Memorial Services for 78 year old Mary Anne Swailes of Riverside will be 10:30 Saturday (4/3) morning at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. Visitation will be Friday (4/2) from 4 to 7pm at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be at a later date.

Fred R. Reynolds

Funeral Services for 73 year old Fred R. Reynolds of Riverside will be held Monday (3/29) at 2pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The body is to be cremated. Visitation will be held Sunday (3/28) from 2 to 6pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice or St. Judes.

TEA Party Organizer: Threats of Violence not Justified

A local TEA Party Chapter is planning a meeting this weekend in the wake of the passage of the new healthcare law. Organizer Laddie Oliver says they see measures such as these as fiscally irresponsible. Oliver stresses that while people may feel upset over government spending, it’s not an excuse to resort to violence.
