The moratorium on power shutoffs is over at the end of this month. Alliant Energy is urging customers who are not current on their utility bills to make contact with them. Alliant Customer Service Director Tim Heinrich says they can set up a payment plan or enroll a customer in budget billing, where bills are based on current account balance, fuel costs, and the past 12 month’s of energy usage. Heinrich says it’s also important to note that money is still available for qualified individuals and families through the Low-Income-Home-Energy Assistance, or LIHEAP program.
