The moratorium on power shutoffs ends tomorrow. Alliant Energy is urging customers who are not current on their utility bills to make contact with them. Alliant Customer Service Director Tim Heinrich says they can set up a payment plan or enroll a customer in budget billing, where bills are based on current account balance, fuel costs, and the past 12 months of energy usage. Heinrich says as of late February nearly 28-thousand Interstate Power and Light customers were more than 60 days past due. He says his company was owed nearly 5.5-million dollars at last estimate.
