Schmitz: Education Cuts Won’t Likely Be Restored

Many Iowa school districts are scrambling to find ways to save money as they develop next year’s budget. Fairfield State Senator Becky Schmitz is chair of the education committee, and doesn’t anticipate a reduction in state funding will be restored. Some school districts have had to shutdown entire buildings. In Washington, school board members recently announced they would slash nearly 450-thousand dollars from next year’s budget.
