Washington County is setting aside an additional $100,000 in next year’s budget for ambulance service. Ambulance Director Richard Young approached supervisors about a year ago and told them that because of problems with collecting, and underfunded government programs like Medicare, the current county subsidy was likely insufficient. Board Chairman Jim Miskch is hopeful the county won’t be forced to spend the full $100,000.
