The Washington Chamber of Commerce is taking donations for a project called Kain’s Wish Box. Kain Schilling is an Iowa soldier who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan. He’s had to undergo several surgeries and will need several more. One of his wishes is that wounded men and women at Walter Reed Medical Center had more to do to keep their minds occupied during their stay. Schilling’s mother is returning to Walter Reed in May and she’s bringing as many DVD movies and local restaurant gift certificates as she can. DVDs and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Washington Chamber Office on the west side of the square.
