The Washington School District is moving funds out of an account connected to the Iowa Association of School Boards in light of allegations of misuse of taxpayer dollars by the statewide association. The Washington board had an emergency meeting last night to increase the amount of money they can keep at a local bank. Washington School District Business Manager Jeff Dieleman says even though officials at the IASB are only facing allegations at this time, he wanted to be cautious with the district’s money. The Iowa Association of School Boards is currently being investigated by the FBI.
