A crash in Keokuk County yesterday claimed the life of a What Cheer Woman. 77 year old Joan Grimm was pronounced dead at the University of Iowa Hospital. The Iowa State Patrol says Grimm was traveling west on Highway 22 just after noon when she made a partial stop, then continued through the intersection of Highway 21. Police say her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a pickup northbound on 21 driven by 52 year old David Barner of University Park. A passenger in his vehicle 54 year old Donna L. Barner, also of University Park, was taken to Mahaska County Hospital for treatment of injuries. The State Patrol says the accident remains under investigation.
