The Mid-Praire Golden Hawks have come home with a second place finish at Drake. Golden Hawk Senior Tanner Miller qualified in the 110 high hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. Miller came out of the 110 highs with the third fastest time in the prelims but was disqualified on a false start in the finals. Miller would rebound in the 400 meter hurdles finishing second in the event with Lin-Mar’s Kyle Dunn taking first. Dunn’s time was 53.13 while Miller’s was 53.51. Also the Golden Hawks 4×8 team ran strong finishing sixth. Running in that event were Tyler Asbe, Tanner Miller, Quinn Hollan, and Justin Hochstetler. Hollan says it was a season best time.
For the Demons their 4×1team for Washington finished 51 out of the 78 teams taken. Head Coach Steve Roth says it was good to compete on that stage and felt it was a positive experience. Jake Redlinger, Alex Vogel, Parker Turner, and Landon Coker ran 45.12 to finish 5th in their heat.
For Columbus, Sam Chaney finished 7th in the 1600 going 4:24. The first place finisher Glenwood’s Johnny Fuller ran 4:15.
