press play to hear from Francis Thicke

A Fairfield based dairy farmer hoping to be Iowa’s next ag secretary made a stop in Washington County yesterday for a field day in Kalona. Democrat Francis Thicke says the event that highlighted the use of cover crops is indicative of his campaign for office. Thicke says conservation would be among his top priorities if elected. He says these cover crops also have the potential to be a source of biofuel. He says this will become paramount as oil prices rise in the future.
