The Washington Demon boys and girls track and field teams won the combined championship at the Eckstrand Relays. WACO hosts the meet that consists of 23 teams. Like many meets they score the teams on the boys and girls sides but unlike other meets they also combine those scores and award a trophy to the school who has the best combined score. The Demons scored 298 team points with the two scores. The Demons won the boys side with 168 team points and Mediapolis was second with 92. On the girls side, the Demons finished second with 131 points, West Branch took first with 170 points. Some of the big finishers for the Demon boys, Head Coach Steve Roth says Landon Coker rebounded after a disappointing long jump to win the 100 and 200 dashes, and a strong split in the 4×1’s 1st place finish.
