Eastern Iowa’s congressman wants to remove some of the red tape when it comes to enrolling students in free and reduced lunch programs at schools. It’s part of a bill Dave Loebsack is introducing as lawmakers look at reauthorizing the school nutrition act. His plan would allow those who are qualified for the free or reduced lunch program to enroll automatically by cross checking their information through other government assistance programs.
