press play to hear from Iowa DNR Director Richard Leopold

A growing number of Iowans are casting away their free time at fishing hotspots. That’s according to an annual report from the Department of Natural Resources. DNR Director Richard Leopold credits angler boom to a growing fish population. Leopold says another factor is lake and waterway restoration projects. He says more Iowans might also be taking up fishing because it’s a rather inexpensive activity during an economically trying time.
