An RV Park in southeast Iowa is being recognized as a leader in green technology. Crossroads RV Park in Mount Pleasant features tankless water heaters, compact fluorescent light bulbs with motion activated light switches, and programmable thermostats for heating and air conditioning. It also offers electric hand dryers, energy and water-saving clothes washers that include special settings to minimize the use of water during the rinse cycle. And its gravel covered roads were designed with geomat, a synthetic material that serves as a foundation material that helps increase the durability of the roadways by preventing the gravel from being absorbed into the mud. The park was built three years ago and has 34 camp sites. It made the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds list of green destinations.
