No charges will be filed in connection with the death of a Washington man who was killed in a brawl outside of a local bar. Robert Thomas Blankenship was pronounced dead at University of Iowa Hospital in November after being found unconscious outside the 4th Avenue Bar and Grill. Washington County Attorney Barb Edmondson says Blankenship died as a result of being struck in the head by Brandon Eichler of Michigan. Edmondson says Eichler was in town for work and was did not know Blankenship prior to that evening. She says Blankenship was highly intoxicated and appears to have been the aggressor in the incident. Edmondson added that the fatal injury suffered by Blankenship is highly unusual
