In soccer, the Mount Pleasant Panthers won the boys and the girls games against the Demons last night. In the boys game Washington Head Coach Sid Ryan says throughout the night he felt his team had some opportunities matching Mount Pleasant’s shot on goals and even early in the game out shooting it but they couldn’t get it in the net. The Panthers scored two early goals. The Demons’ Oscar Velasco scored early in the second half to get the Demons on the board but the Panthers won 4-1. Now the Demons will have a little break on their schedule as they won’t play until next Thursday and in between then they’ll get several players who have not been able to play so far this season.

The girls were on the road taking on Mount Pleasant and the Panthers won 3-0. Demon Head Coach Kyle Collins says looking at their performance one thing he was encouraged about is his defense’s awareness. He says the girls were moving to the spot they were suppose to. Unlike the boys, it won’t be a long rest for the girls, they will be back on the field today hosting Centerville.
