Weekend showers were welcomed by many southeast Iowa Farmers. Gene Mohling with ISU Extension Region 15 says most producers are way ahead of their planting schedule and the top soil was starting to get fairly dry. Mohling says May 10th is usually considered the deadline for corn planting. He says soybeans usually need to be in by the third week in May.
