press play to hear from Sherry Sass

It’s been a nearly ideal planting season for most Iowa farmers. But for vegetable and other produce growers, things are a little on the dry side. That’s according to Sherry Sass who has about four acres of garden style crops near Riverside. She says without some rain soon, seeds her and her husband have planted will have trouble coming up. For conventional row crops the situation is much different. Statewide field corn planting progress is 14-percentage points ahead of both last year and the five year average.
