press play to hear from Washington Co. Sheriff Jerry Dunbar

No one can control the weather, but you can prepare for it. Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says severe weather can strike suddenly. He says one of the most important things people can do to stay safe is have a plan. He says it’s important to know where you will go, whether that be a basement, or an interior room. He also says it’s crucial to have flashlights, a radio and plenty of fresh batteries. Dunbar says it’s also a good idea to set aside some non-perishable food items and bottled water in case your isolated and unable to leave your home.
