Around 30 students staged a sit in Friday at the Washington High School in protest of cuts to the district’s teachers and other staff. One of them was Daryl Ross. He says besides protesting, they are also brainstorming to see if there’s a way to prevent the cuts. Ross says they understand that the district is facing difficult financial times in light of state budget cuts. The governor’s 10-percent across the board reduction equated to about 800-thousand dollars carved out of WCSD’s budget.
