The Washington County Treasurer’s Office has released a breakdown of how taxes will be apportioned for the March collection cycle. A little more than ten million dollars has been collected, which does not include delinquent, mobile home or utility replacement tax. Nor does it include special assessments. According to the breakdown, Washington County will retain about a quarter of the revenue, while the other taxing authorities will take about 66 percent. More than eight percent goes to the city of Riverside’s Tax Increment Financing District for infrastructure. More than 40-percent of all property taxes collected go to fund various school districts in Washington County.
