press play to hear from WPD Chief Greg Goodman

Washington’s police chief says his department will step up its enforcement of liquor laws in response to a death outside of a local tavern last year. Greg Goodman says while the death of Robert Blankenship in November was a high profile incident, there have also been many other altercations at Washington bars. Goodman says officers will begin conducting tavern checks to see if patrons are being over served, or if anyone is causing problems. At the time of his death, Blankenship had a blood alcohol level of nearly four times the legal limit.
