Washington County Supervisors are adjusting the contract for ambulance service and putting it out for bids. The board’s Steve Davis says the changes mostly address the service re-supplying the various first responder teams with medical supplies. Davis says the current ambulance service already does that, but since they are putting the contract up for bid, they wanted to make sure all aspects were covered. The contract stipulates that the successful bidder must be located in Washington, or within two miles of the city limits. Supervisors decided to put the contract up for bid during budgeting sessions.
