Southeast Iowa Farmers have nearly completed corn planting for the season. The latest statistics from the USDA shows area producers have 80 percent of corn planted. Rainfall during much of last week gave farmers just over one day suitable for field work in this corner of the state. The forecast this week calls for one good chance of rain on Friday. The report also shows 12 percent of soybeans have been planted in southeast Iowa, slightly behind the statewide average of 13 percent.
