Davis at quarterback for UNI spring game

A former Washington Demon was under center last night for the UNI Panthers in their spring scrimmage. Zach Davis will be a junior in the fall and backed up previous starter Pat Grace. The Panthers have brought in a junior college transfer from Ellsworth Community College to also compete for the position. Last night Davis playing with the number one offense Davis went 8-15 for 90 yards and threw an interception. He led the offense on a touchdown drive. The Panther’s other quarterback Tirrell Rennie 6-12 for 123 yards an interception and 2 touchdowns, He also ran for 49 yards on six carries. After last night’s spring game, UNI Head Coach Mark Farley said the team clearly has two quarterbacks that they feel can start and win games for them. He says how they use they’ll have to see this summer.
