The Demon baseball team had the bats going last night as they won big on the road over Mediapolis. The Demon led 10-1 going into the fifth and scored eleven more runs to win 21-1. In the top of the fifth the Demons had 17 guys come to the plate. As a team the Demons had 16 hits and 14 rbi’s. Washington Head Coach Nathan Miller says after the second time through the lineup, the team really got the bats going. Washington used four pitchers, Brad Weatherman one and a third gave up one hit struck out four and walked two. Martin Ponce 1 inning 2 hits, 1 run, walked one, struck out one. Josh Moore one and two thirds, struck out three and didn’t give up a hit or walk anyone. Collin Steele finished up pitching one inning, gave up one hit and struck out two. The Demons are now 2-0 on the season and will next host Iowa City Regina for a varsity doubleheader on Tuesday.
