Low gas prices, pleasant weather and a long Memorial Day weekend means many Iowan’s are hitting the road. Jason Marlow with the Iowa State Patrol in Mt. Pleasant says like any holiday, there will also be more officers out on the roads. He hopes this will deter speeding, drunk driving and other risky behaviors. Last year was one of the deadliest Memorial Day weekends in Iowa. 11 people were killed in traffic accidents. Three of them died after a fiery crash in Washington County.
