The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team is headed to the state tournament. The Golden Hawks won their district tournament to get to regionals, and yesterday they finished second at their regional to earn the spot in the state tournament. The Hawks were playing at West Liberty. Notre Dame/West Burlington won the tournament with a 391 and Mid-Prairie shot 395. For the Golden Hawks, Kelsie Berg shot 89 and Lindsey Thoman shot 95.

In 3A, Washington’s Cassy Tussler made it to regionals as an individual by finishing in the top five at the Demons’ district tournament. She was playing in Pella yesterday, and shot a 107 to finish 14th. The two schools that advanced to state were Grinnell and Ballard.
