Memorial mass for 86 year old Dorothy K. Greiner of Keota will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.  Memorials have been established to the Holy Trinity Cemetery Fund, Keota Fire Department or Hospice Compassus in Dorothy’s name.

Demon softball splits with Bloodhounds

The fifth ranked Fort Madison Bloodhound softball team took it to the Demons pretty good in the first game of last night’s conference doubleheader, but unlike other sports, the Demons immediately had another shot at the Bloodhounds and made good.

Funeral services for 87 year old Mildred E. Sands of Washington will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. on Monday, May 31 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home with family visitation from 6 to 8 on Monday evening. A memorial has been established to Cotter Presbyterian Church and Salem Welsh Presbyterian Church.

Unemployment Edges Up for Iowa, Huge Drop in Washington Co.
