Nine people have been appointed to Washington County’s newly formed planning and zoning commission. The group will oversee both the zoning and subdivision ordinances. Five of those people have previously served on the subdivision committee, or the committee that helped write the zoning ordinance, or both. Five people have been appointed to the board of adjustment, which is the commission that will consider variances to the subdivision and zoning ordinances. Supervisors approved the designations on a 3-2 vote. Citing a continued opposition to zoning, Steve Davis and Jim Rosien cast those two no votes.
