This year’s Brighton Whoopee Days will mark the 100th year for the event. It will kick off with Farm Day a week from Friday. This year the 2009 Farm Broadcaster of the Year will be speaking at the event. Ken Root is an agricultural reporter and has worked for WHO Radio. He is speaking at noon in the pavilion at Brighton City Park. Organizers say he’ll have a mix of humor and inspiration and will be aimed at farmers and small town audiences. He will also share his thoughts on what an agricultural community needs to survive. Also as part of the event, Washington County 4-H Council members will give a short presentation to farmers on roadway safety. Farm Day during Brighton’s Whoopee Days is a week from Friday and will begin at noon in the pavilion at Brighton City Park.
