Washington’s downtown has seen a number of renovations recently, and this week the city is having a capstone event to celebrate it. Chamber Director Tim Coffey says regular Thursday evening festivities will include a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new band shell. He says it’s also symbolic of the completion of the other major projects downtown such as the library and the streetscape. The chamber will not have regular Thursday Night Live Entertainment, but it is opening night for the Municipal Band. Things get started at 7:30.
