The U.S. Congressman for Washington, Henry, Johnson, Louisa, and Jefferson counties says the American people require proof that BP can pay for the damage it’s created.  Congressman Dave Loebsack and 31 additional members of Congress sent a letter to British Petroleum reminding the company of its intention to pay the full costs of the most devastating environmental disaster in U.S. history.  The Congressman says “BP should focus on helping people rebuild their lives”, and the company should “show commitment to being responsible for this tragedy”.  Loebsack supports creating an independently administered escrow account of $20 billion from BP to cover cleanup and economic costs.
