Demon baseball beats Regina in six innings

The Washington Demon baseball team was hosting Iowa City Regina for a doubleheader and they managed to get one in before the rain came. The Demons had a strong night at the plate and led by four much of the way they led 7-3 at one point then 8-4 and 9-5. In the fifth the Demons scored four runs to go up by nine and had the winning run at third with two outs but Regina was able to get the third out but in the bottom of the six a Brad Weatherman base hit scored Josh Moore to give the Demons the 15-5 win in six innings. Washington had 19 hits on the night, and Head Coach Nathan Miller says it’s nice to see their early season run production. He says typically in the early part of the season pitchers have the upper hand as kids get used to seeing live pitches again but he says so far his team has been playing strong at the plate. He attributes a lot of their early success to the new indoor facility that was built last summer. In the field the Demons had some nice catches in the outfield including two sliding efforts from Jordan Geir in left. As for Demon pitching last night, Kaleb Rich pitched three innings and Josh Moore pitched the other three. Washington gave up two walks and there were two hit batters and after giving up three hits in the first and one in the third the Demons didn’t allow a hit the rest of the night.
They did take the field and start the first inning of the second game but the game was called with the last night’s storm moving into the area. So with the
