The Washington Demon baseball team got two complete games from their pitchers in a conference doubleheader sweep over Keokuk. It was the conference opener for the baseball team. In game one, Martin Ponce took the mound and got ahead in the count throughout the evening holding Keokuk to five hits, only one of which came in the last four innings. Ponce struck out 9 and walked two. The Demons never trailed and won 9-1.

In the second game the Demons won in five 10-0 with a complete game from Collin Steele. Demon Head Coach Nathan Miller says getting their two starting pitchers to go the entire game is a big help especially after they had to throw a lot of pitchers last week. With the two wins the Demons improve to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. They’re off today and will play a road game with Highland tomorrow.
