The Washington Demon baseball team will open conference play tonight as they play host to Keokuk. The softball team has already had two conference double headers but this is the first for baseball. The Demons come in with a 5-1 record and are coming off an extra inning 7-4 loss to 1A 4th ranked IMS. Washington Head Coach Nathan Miller says it’s nice to open with them here in Washington, because the two teams have split the last two seasons in Keokuk. The Demons won the two games in Washington last season 11-4 and 4-1. Miller feels like the Chiefs will be a different squad with several seniors graduating last year and a new coach. You’ll be able to hear the first game of tonight’s doubleheader right here on the one to count on KCII we’ll be on the air at 5:30.
