Customers in Washington County and other areas of the state have a new provider for telephone and other services. Arkansas-based Windstream announced earlier this month it had completed the acquisition of Iowa Telecommunication Services, Inc. in a transaction valued at $1.2 billion.  Iowa Telecom currently services more than 100,000 people in Iowa and Minnesota, including many customers in Washington County.  Former Iowa Telecom and current Windstream spokesman Charlie Bruggeman says the most notable effect of the sale will be new green, Windstream logos and that company’s “price for life” package for phone, digital TV, and internet services.
