press play to hear from the DHS’s Marc Baty

More concerns are arising over the reorganization of the Iowa Department of Human Services. Local Attorney Julie Gilmere says Washington County has a significant case load and with a massive staff reduction could cause some major problems. Many of Gilmere’s colleagues echoed here comments. DHS Regional Director Marc Baty says his hands are tied. Baty attended this week’s Washington County Supervisors meeting to inform the board about what DHS’s local office needs would be after the reorganization. He expects to lose nearly 40 employees in the state agency’s southeast Iowa region.
