The Washington Community Hospital and Clinics, as well as the Washington Community Theater, experienced phone outages yesterday. Iowa Telecom spokesman Dan Eness told KCII the outages were not related. Around 8:15 yesterday morning, a hospital phone cable was accidentally cut by workers unaffiliated with Iowa Telecom, and a phone company representative replaced the cable by noon. Later on that morning, faulty equipment caused a phone outage at the Washington Community Theater. Eness says the equipment was replaced and service was restored after a couple of hours.
