St. James Catholic Church in Washington will be getting a new pastor. Father Paul Apple has been here for the last two years but says he has been given a new assignment. He says he will be studying Canon Law in Washington D.C. Canon Law is the law that governs the law of the Catholic Church such as catholic marriages, moving of properties, or aligning parishes. Father Paul says after his studies he will likely work in the Davenport Bishop’s office. Father Troy Richmond who is the current pastor in Fort Madison will be taking over July 1st.
