Yesterday the Washington Board of Supervisors for the second time this month delayed the approval of a new contract for services provided by Washington County Ambulance. County Auditor Bill Fredrick says an earlier service quote from the company for up to two times the current taxpayer subsidy and questions regarding the location of prepped ambulances has complicated the process, but adds that the county still has ambulance service without a new deal. The board of supervisors has approved an extension of the current rates for ambulance services past today’s deadline until the new deal is approved.
