One lucky sculpture will win the “Peoples Choice Award” this week at the county fair and a lot of change. 9 glued, welded and bent sculptures have been entered in the Fair’s “Bucket of Junk” Sculpture Contest and will be auctioned off on Thursday at 6:30 pm to benefit 4-H enrollment fees. Buckets have been placed in front of each sculpture at the Fairgrounds and fairgoers are allowed to vote for their favorite with pocket change. The winner will be announced before at 4 pm before the auction, and will receive a trophy and a $50 cash prize, plus ALL the change from all nine buckets. The auction will be hosted by Natalie Friese, a former Washington County Fair and current Iowa Speedway Queen.
