60 members of the Iowa National Guard’s134th Medical Company were honored and given a farewell by family and community members Wednesday at the Washington Community Center. Soldiers ceremoniously removed their 134th patches and replaced them with the Red Bull insignia of their new assignments with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division in Afghanistan.  Washington Mayor Sandra Johnson thanked the 134th for its service, and Colonel Scott Visser of the 67th Troop Command presented the group with an Iowa Flag to proudly display during their Afghanistan deployment, telling the soldiers they would succeed because they “are the best, [they] are Iowa Guard soldiers.”
