The Washington Demon baseball team won the conference title with their regular season finale last night against Fort Madison. The Demons won the first game 5-3 and the second 4-1. So Washington ends up 14-2 in conference play while Mount Pleasant finished with three conference losses, two splits with Washington and a split with Fort Madison. In the first game Jordan Gier had three hits including a double and three rbi’s and Jake Redlinger homered. In the second game Washington Gier and Redlinger each had rbi’s. Demon Head Coach Nathan Miller says his two pitchers last night did a tremendous job with Brad Weatherman and Collin Steele combining to allow just four hits in two games. Now the Demons will have a couple of days to get some practices in before they begin the postseason on Friday playing Keokuk at Mount Pleasant.
