Family members of an Ainsworth child are hosting the 2nd Annual Players 4 Payton Slow Pitch Softball Tournament. Five year old Payton Schultz has been living with a rare disease called HIDS which is a periodic fever disorder. He is only 1 of 6 children in the United States and 1 of 200 people worldwide with the disorder. Family members host the event to raise funds for medication and hospital expenses. The day features a softball tournament, live band, food drive for HAACAP, kids carnival, and a home run derby with other kids events going on all day. Concessions will also be served at the event. Registration cost for teams is $120 per team, or $200 and all will receive Players 4 Payton T-shirts. The fundraiser for Payton Schultz is Saturday, August 7 at the Riverside ball fields beginning at 7:30am. For questions or to register, call Cassie Olson at 319-548-1379.
