Additional State Troopers will be on the road this 4th of July weekend to stop “killer violations” such as not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, and drunk driving. Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar reminds county residents to stay safe during holiday celebrations, and recommends not taking the risk of using illegal fireworks. Fireworks displays tomorrow night are in Kalona and What Cheer, with Sunday fireworks displays taking place in Wellman, Crawfordsville, Coralville, Wayland, Mt. Pleasant, and Fairfield. The City of Washington’s Annual Fireworks will be Sunday at the Washington County Fairgrounds at dusk. The Rain Date is July 5.
