The lowest of 3 bids to replace a bridge on County Highway W38 on the way to Wellman, also known as Ginkgo Avenue, has been approved by the Washington County Board of Supervisors. County Engineer David Patterson says the state requires the county to approve the lowest bid, but adds that the $162,000 work contract with Iowa Bridge and Culvert is also desirable becomes it supports a local Washington company. Patterson says the construction will take place this fall, and should take no more than 3 months to finish.
