Tonight at the Ainsworth Opera House, the Brinton Film Festival celebrates its 12th year of showing some of the oldest movies still in existence, a few of which date back to 1897 and are kept for archival purposes by the Smithsonian Institute. For the first time, this years festival will have also have a display of early projectors, including a projector used over 100 years ago.  Opera House Program Director Michael Zahs says Frank and Indiana Brinton were pioneers in the film industry and held public viewings of movies before the 20th century.  The film festival is at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow, at the Ainsworth Opera House.  An ice cream social will also take place each night at 7.
