The One to Count On...

British Petroleum in Southeast Iowa

British Petroleum’s ongoing accident has been declared the largest oil spill to ever occur in the Gulf of Mexico, but in southeast Iowa, the only BP logos you’ll see are convenience stores operated by community members. Washington’s BP “One Trip” is one such store, and Manager Sharon Wolf says customer’s reactions to the oil spill range from surprise that she still has a job, to being thankful that the store is still there.  Wolf says the store remains “pretty busy” as its normal customers continue to stop for gas and other needs.  A representative of Cobb Oil, the company that owns the eastside Washington “One Stop” BP Station, declined comment.
