The City of Washington has received $950,000 from the state’s I-JOBS Program to help pay for a $3.5 million dollar gravity sewer system, part of a $20 million wastewater rehabilitation project.  Washington Mayor Sandra Johnson says the city also has received a $700,000 Community Development Block Grant, and calls the project is of “great magnitude and importance” in the community.  She says Washington will be paying back borrowed money for the next 20 years, and city user feels will increase.
